Teaching pre-reading observation and visual discrimination skills can be fun using Ricardo's SNAP card game.
This game uses pictures of Ricardo doing different activities that the children will need to look at carefully to spot the differences and make a pair to SNAP!! Can also be used to play memory games.
Encourages development of good visual identification and recognition skills. ie. what is the same and what is different in each picture.
Playing games are also excellent for encouraging development of social skills like turn taking, rule following and good sportsmanship.
Recommended for 2-4 yo but suitable for all ages in need of learning same/different visual discrimination skills - essential for developing good pre-reading/pre-writing skills.
Great for in class or at home learning: table top learning hub, literacy centres, Daily 5, floor time, extension activity or rewards.
With adult supervision, as age-appropriate, children can be given the opportunity to cut out the cards and game instruction page themselves, this aspect is good for addressing skills like eye-hand co-ordination, fine motor control and bilateral integration (ie. using two hands together).
Game Set includes:
instruction card, 40 playing cards: 10 different sets of 4 each and a printed back side of the playing card is included or the back side can be kept blank.
Enjoy printing the game out on thin white card or normal paper and gluing onto back of cereal or biscuit packets.
