Handwriting is a such complex task, and more and more children who are referred to occupational therapy are struggling to do it proficiently.

It is vital for us today, to be willing to put aside those old notions of the ‘perfect pencil grip’ holding so much value and for us to embrace and align with what current evidence is saying about the need to encourage more functional handwriting in children.

I will be providing some introductory information on:

1. Why engagement and participation in handwriting is still so relevant for children today
2. What is meant by the term ‘functional handwriting?’
3. Keeping it simple with evidence-based handwriting practices

This webinar supports the current need of clinicians and educators working within this area to be using evidence-informed interventions.

I am hoping you will come away with a refreshed understanding of how relevant handwriting still is today and of the importance of putting existing research-based evidence into everyday handwriting practice.
